About Us
Recycle My Cell Phone is a grassroots campaign that seeks to educate consumers about the impacts of their purchases, beginning with the extraction of raw materials through the end of product life.
EARTHWORKS,
an environmental non-profit organization has teamed
up with CollectiveGood,
a leader in responsible cell phone recycling, to either
refurbish or recycle your old cell phone using the highest
environmental and social standards.
We are inviting others to participate and benefit from
the campaign to achieve a critical mass and significantly
increase the rate of cell phone recycling---to
date, the industry and other collection campaigns combined
have recycled less than 2% of retired cell phones.
Reporters looking for a campaign spokesperson and other
material can find it here.
Who is EARTHWORKS?
EARTHWORKS
is a non-profit organization that works exclusively
on resource extraction issues (i.e. mining, drilling
and digging). We are leading this campaign to promote
public and consumer awareness of the connection between
products, their source, and the impacts of their use.
We seek to energize public participation, in a hands-on
fashion, on environmental issues that affect us all.
And have fun doing it!
Who is CollectiveGood?
CollectiveGood
creates financially productive partnerships with charities
and companies to ensure that the benefits of cell phones
are maximized, and their environmental impact is minimized.
They have pioneered the concept of providing marketing,
operations and logistics support to charities and the
private sector to create innovative used mobile phone
collection campaigns that are successful in every community.
