What Happens to My Cell Phone?
Cell phones recycled through the
Recycle My Cell Phone campaign don't see the inside
of one of these. |
EARTHWORKS has teamed up with CollectiveGood to refurbish
or recycle your cell phone while following the highest
environmental and social standards.
CollectiveGood recycles everything. The phones, their
batteries, chargers, accessories -- even the boxes and
donation forms. They are very proud of the fact that
they do not have a dumpster at their facility!
Most of the phones and accessories received can be
refurbished, reset, and reused.
If a phone is broken, its working parts are removed.
"New" phones are eventually assembled from
the usable parts of different phones.
All unusable materials and batteries are sent to EPA-certified
partners who dispose of them in a way that is not harmful
to the environment.
For more detailed information about our commitment
to the environment please see our environmental
principles.
