What Happens to My Cell Phone?

Cell phones recycled through the Recycle My Cell Phone campaign don't see the inside of one of these.

EARTHWORKS has teamed up with CollectiveGood to refurbish or recycle your cell phone while following the highest environmental and social standards.

CollectiveGood recycles everything. The phones, their batteries, chargers, accessories -- even the boxes and donation forms. They are very proud of the fact that they do not have a dumpster at their facility!

Most of the phones and accessories received can be refurbished, reset, and reused.

If a phone is broken, its working parts are removed. "New" phones are eventually assembled from the usable parts of different phones.

All unusable materials and batteries are sent to EPA-certified partners who dispose of them in a way that is not harmful to the environment.
